Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer at AGCO, you will play a crucial role in developing scalable, reliable data infrastructure and pipelines that support analytics, AI initiatives, and real-time decision-making. Below are some of the key responsibilities you will handle:

• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with data scientists, simulation experts, and software developers to understand data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure to support analytics and AI projects.
• Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Build and maintain robust data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data. Ensure these pipelines are scalable, reliable, and capable of supporting high-quality data access for real-time decision-making.
• Integrate Data Sources: Seamlessly integrate various data sources into existing systems, ensuring that they remain consistent and easily accessible for the business.

Optimize and Troubleshoot: Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth, cost-effective operations and maintain high data quality. Ensure that all processes are aligned with best practices for performance.

Cloud Platforms and Cost-Effective Solutions: Leverage cloud platforms like AWS to implement scalable, cost-effective data solutions. You will also be responsible for selecting the most appropriate technologies for data integration, processing, and storage.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear and concise documentation for the processes, architectures, and systems developed to ensure transparency and ease of future troubleshooting.

Job Requirements

To be eligible for the role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing data pipelines for structured data. Experience with unstructured data is an added advantage.

  • Alternatively, at least 1 year of experience with AWS cloud services and Databricks is also acceptable.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Spark, and SQL.

  • Familiarity with code optimization techniques to enhance the performance and efficiency of data pipelines.

• Knowledge of Data Technologies:

  • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and database technologies such as Unity Catalog, Redshift, and MongoDB.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and troubleshooting.
